Description
Class Experience
In this class, we will discuss 10 of the weirdest, scariest looking creatures found lurking in the deep, deep sea. We will discuss the phenotype of each animal, how it survives in the deep, its diet and many more attributes of each animal in detail. We will then discuss eyesight in the deep sea, and how animals eyes have evolved over time in this environment. We will also go over bioluminescence, since this is such an important feature of deep sea animals. We will go over true or false...
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn ten major animals of the deep sea, how they survive in the deep, and how to identify them by name when shown a picture. They will learn what bioluminescence is, and why it is important for deep sea animals. They will also learn about eyesight and how it has evolved in deep sea marine animals.
Your child is free to have a piece of blank paper and some crayons if they choose to do so for the "create your own deep sea animal" activity, though this is not required.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
