Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
My passion is teaching elementary-age children. I love teaching this age group because they are naturally inquisitive and love learning. I particularly love teaching math and science. Math and science lessons are excellent opportunities to introduce young children to the lifelong love of learning through experimentation and exploration. I believe all students enjoy learning when the material is presented to them in a fun and engaging way.
I have a bachelor's degree in business administration with minors in math and science. My first career was in the banking industry where I was a corporate trainer for over ten years. I became a stay-at-home mom when my son was born. When he began elementary school, I when back to school and became certified to teach pre-kindergarten through third grade and exceptional student education. I am currently an English as a Second Language teacher with an online learning platform and a private one-on-one tutor for students struggling with reading and mathematics.
I currently homeschool my 15-year-old son, who is a competitive gymnast. My husband, son, and I are infatuated with the Smoky Mountains National Park and travel there at least once a year to hike and enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains. We are also avid fans of the space program and all things NASA. I have lived in Orlando, FL most of my life and enjoy the unique wildlife that calls Florida home.
