This is messy art making fun at its finest! In this fun, energetic and interactive class students will learn to marbleize paper using items easily acquired or already in your home. Ms. Stephanie start with introductions, go over supplies, and the set up process with each child. She'll teach tricks to creating interesting patterns and share insider tips for marbled paper success. As kids begin to create their own marbled paper Stephanie will interact with students to ensure they all create papers they are excited about and give you lots of idea for using the papers you create, because without a doubt, kids will want to continue creating long after class ends!

Hi there!
I teach visual arts and visual arts related classes for kids, pre-teens, teens, those with physical & intellectual differences, healthy adults, those dealing with healthcare challenges and those with memory care needs. Here on Outschool I teach ongoing, one time, 8week and multiway visual arts classes. Private individual and private small group lessons are available by request.
An alumni of Virginia Commonwealth University's BFA program in art education and am a VA state certified k-12 arts educator. In addition, I'm a proud University of Florida Gator with a MA in Arts in Medicine. Since 2015 I've owned a mobile art studio teaching to homeschoolers, social and support groups and adults facing healthcare challenges in the Richmond, Virginia area. I have experience working with children and adults facing health challenges, even providing classes to children during hospital stays via Zoom and Outschool.
I believe the arts are a universal language and that when we engage in creative practices, we help make the world a healthier, kinder and happier place. Practices in the arts build self esteem, confidence, relieve stress, and directly impact the health of our communities by creating collaborative, creative and confident thinkers. With those beliefs in mind, I design and teach visual arts classes that are empowering and engaging for all abilities levels and types of learners. I use a cross curricular approach to teaching often incorporating just enough art history, geography, literacy, science and math to help students make connections to other subject learning through art.
Some fun facts about me:
I'm a homeschooling Mom of 3 young men, 2 who are working full time and a junior in high school. I'm a 2nd degree black belt and assistant instructor, a hobby photographer and artist. I love to travel, cook, visit museums, kayak and hike. I grew up in central Pennsylvania but have resided in Richmond Virginia area for over 3 decades.
