Class Experience
We will cover modern day manners like saying please and thank you and cleaning up after ourselves. What do manners look like? What does it sound like when we use our manners? The class structure is as follows: -Introduction & Roll Call -Maria reads her book, Spoonful of Sweetness by Maria Dismondy -Brain Break! -Video connection -Apply three actions to the skill -Demonstration (kind of like a science experiment) of the skill -Your Turn (children apply the skill on their own in a short...
Students will learn three components that they can practice on a daily basis that will help them think about the power of their everyday choices when using manners. Students will learn manners for inside the home, in public and in the classroom.
Maria has a BA and MA in Child Development, Education and Research from Michigan State University. She has been teaching for 20+ years and speaks nationally to families on character development and social skills.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
