Class Experience
This class is taught in Mandarin Chinese.
Course Outline Week 1 of August 1st- Greeting In this lesson unit, instructors will Introduce commonly used greeting vocabulary in the classroom, such as "你好" “再见” “老师好”. Students will be able to recognize the greeting phrases and use them verbally with their peers. Week 2 of August 8th- Numbers Students will be able to count and write numbers from 1 to 10. Week 3 of August 15th- All About Me Students will be able to ask and answer questions related to names and age. Week 4 August 22nd- Family Students will be able to match family members with their pictures and create a family chart. They will also be able to introduce their family members' names and ages verbally. Week 5 of August 29th- Colors Students will be able to recognize colors (red, yellow, blue, green, white, and black) and make basic sentences of their favorite colors. Week 6 of September 5th- Chinese Zodiac Students will be able to name 12 zodiac animals and retell the stories about the animal race. Week 7 of September 12th- Animals and Pets Students will be able to match animal names with their pictures and produce simple sentences about their favorite animals. Week 8 September 19th- Foods and Drinks Students will be able to make simple sentences including their favorite fruits, vegetables, and drinks. They will also be able to combine color words with fruits and vegetables.
Theme worksheets or arts and crafts will be provided to reinforce learning and help your child steadily expand their Mandarin vocabulary.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
