Learn basic greetings, numbers 1-5, animals, colors, face parts, family members, the verb 'to be' and write numbers 1-5 in Chinese. This is a vocabulary-focused class with optional writing in simplified Chinese (mainland China Chinese).
Class experience
This class will cover basic Chinese grammar and lots of vocabulary presented in a fun pre-school friendly way, including object visuals, games, songs, books etc. Video links will be provided for students to watch between classes so that they feel more confident during class and so that less time will be spent on learning vocabulary and more time will be spent on speaking and doing activities in the language as a group. Second Language Acquisition and how the brain acquires languages at each age is a topic I've been researching for years. Having learned both Mandarin Chinese and Spanish fluently along with teaching each language to my own children and to others, it has become my passion. I know what it's like being an English speaker learning Mandarin Chinese and I know what parts of learning the language are difficult and what methods work to overcome those obstacles.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
