Hey there students! I'm excited to announce a special one-time class to help out those of you on your Mandarin learning journey. You're welcome to drop in whenever works best for you, and you can even choose the topic you'd like to focus on. If you're curious about the topics I offer, here are a few examples from Mandarin 1 to Mandarin 3: Topic for Mandarin 1 are: Greetings, numbers, number related expressions, segment of a day, family members, measure words, body parts, color, positions, animals, places, classes, hobbies and interest, sports, daily schedule, food and drinks. Topics for Mandarin 2 are: School, summer activities, emotion and interest, travel, locations and directions, household items, shapes and colors, weather, seasons, clothing, accessories, locations, directions, place to work, professions, work responsibilities, hobbies, health related articles, internet, computer, community, personalities traits, volunteer works, environment issues, household chores, making request, offering to help. Topic for Mandarin 3 are: Geography, interrogative pronouns, describe itinerary using continuation of complex sentences, describe locations and give directions with reference spot, Kinship terms, subjects, sports, music, emotions, describe school workload, culture of price negotiation, online shopping, good habits and bad habits, stress and stress relief, conflicts and solutions, entertainment, wedding and custom, Chinese performing arts. Learning Goals
Upon completing the book in class, students will gain:
Mandarin 1 student's goals:
Student will learn at least 250 characters by the end of the course.
Student can use their knowledge to ask and answer simple questions in Mandarin.
Student will have the knowledge of basic Chinese sentence structure.
Mandarin 2 student's goals:
students are expected to learn 750 characters.
Students are expected to know 35 sentence structure.
Students are able to translate the sentence we learned from Chinese to English.
Mandarin 3 student's goals:
students are expected to learn 1500 characters.
Students are expected to know sentence structure for essay writing.
Students are able to translate the paragraph we learned from Chinese to English.

I am currently a World Language Teacher at my local high school.
I grew up in China with Chinese being my first language. Then I moved to the US I earned my B.A. in Chinese. During college, I participated in the Chinese-American essay contest on Chinese History and Culture and won the Honorable Mention. I also won 2nd place on the 31st Chinese Speech Contest.
