Class Experience

In this one-time class, students will have the space to practice how to converse in Mandarin Chinese.  The students will have the chance to converse with the teacher and their classmates. The teacher will guide the discussion with topics and questions. Students will practice how to speak while Ms. Teyen will correct their tones and pronunciations. Any level of Mandarin Chinese speakers is welcome. Students are also encouraged to come with their own topics and questions they would like to talk about.
Learning Goals
Students will improve in their skill of conversing in Mandarin Chinese, which includes pronunciations, tones, and vocabulary.

Illinois Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Ms. Teyen is a Taiwanese-American who has been a Mandarin Chinese teacher since 2015. She has taught children and adults during these five years. Ms. Teyen has also studied abroad in Taiwan where she participated in a University's foreign language exchange program. She taught English to the University students and learned more Mandarin Chinese with them. She also took AP Mandarin Chinese in high school and scored a 5 on her AP Exam.
