Students will be asked to practice the different situations during the review section and practice session of each class.Class Experience
***Students must have completed Parts 1 and 2 to be eligible for Part 3*** Students will learn the basic of Chinese pronunciation and grammar as well as have ample opportunities to practice what they are learning on a daily basis. Students will use everyday situations from the Lexicarry book to learn how to talk about real life things in preparation for speaking Chinese to real Chinese people. Class will be structured in the following way: 5-10 minutes - Review 10 minutes - Learn new Vocab/Structures 10 minutes - Practice with teacher and partners Topics covered: Week 1: Review of Part 1 and Part 2 of this class Week 2: Further conversation on hobbies and review our two songs Week 3: Further conversation on friends and review our two songs Week 4: Further conversation on activities and review our two songs Weekly Plans: Monday - 10-15 minutes - Review practice time with partners and teacher 10 minutes - Talk about the plan for the week and learn new material 5 minutes - Practice the new material and get homework Tuesday - 5 minutes - General practice time with all learned topics. 15 minutes - Learn new material. 10 minutes - Practice Monday and Tuesday's material. Wednesday - 5 minutes - General practice time with all learned topics. 15 minutes - Learn new material 10 minutes - Prepare a role-play with partners to perform on Friday Thursday - 10 minutes - General practice with all learned topics while teacher reviews role-plays created by students with each group. 15 minutes - Learn new material 5 minutes - Practice role-play and new material Friday - 5 minutes - General Practice time with all learned topics 10 minutes - Groups present their role-play. 10 minutes - Review the week and preview the coming week 5 minutes - Final practice for the week and homework.
Learning Goals
The students will learn a base of information and be able to use it to communicate about most basic things one might need while visiting China or talking with Chinese people about general daily topics.
