This session will allow students to ask their questions about going to college and living on campus so they can decide what colleges they should pursue. Questions might include - How do I pick a college? - How can I find scholarships? - How can I prepare? Other questions about campus life may include - What should I bring? - What is it like having a roommate? - What will I do at night and on the weekends? These are all common questions that students are asking and it helps to hear from...
Student will learn about the college experience and how to prepare themselves for their choice of higher education.
I attended a four-year public liberal arts university and lived on campus while I was there. I then took a job as Assistant Director of Admissions and lead information sessions. I now serve as a Director of Student Engagement & Activities for a college district. I am passionate about helping students succeed and that includes answering their questions.
No homework assigned. Students may submit questions in the classroom area.
No supplies are needed for this class. I will provide each student a copy of my workshop, "How to Stand Out during the College Application Process" and will also compile a list of resources for them based on the questions asked during the session.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
