The unique approach to spelling instruction in this course helps learners build the essential knowledge for being a fluent and accurate reader and writer. The lessons teach homophones, spelling changes, prefixes, suffixes, complex spelling patterns, new vocabulary and word usage that most third grade curriculums cover. Each Making Words activity contains rhyming words which help learners review the more complex vowel patterns. This unique approach allows learners at all levels within 4th grade to make progress in their spelling, decoding, and vocabulary skills.

I have strict hiring standards and strive to only hire teachers I would feel comfortable teaching my own children on Outschool.
Homework Offered
Learners will be given a unique code to the Kahoot game we play in class so they can choose to play it again at home to reinforce the skills we practiced in class.Assessments Offered
Grades Offered
A set of spelling tiles (like in the game Scrabble) or cards. Kids can make these on notecards or on small squares of paper. No need to buy spelling tiles! We only need up to 8 letters each week. I will message each week to let you know what letters we'll need for the following week. Please also bring a notebook or piece of paper to write down the words as we build them if you'd like to have a list of them after class.

We use Kahoot.it during class to interact with our newly learned words. Leaners do not need an account to access this site. I will send a link in the chat. Your learner will need to know how to use the chat in Zoom to access the links or open a second tab on their device and type kahoot.it. There is a game PIN learners will enter that assures our game is private and only being played by the learners in our class.
