In this class, students will learn the steps to solve one-step equations and inequalities (a pre-algebra concept). I'll explain each step and write it out for both how to solve one-step equations and how to solve one-step inequalities. I will model a few examples of how to do this with real problems. I will ask students questions and check that they understand throughout the class. I will also have students demonstrate what they have learned by showing the class how they would solve a problem.

I will use video clips, screen sharing, and use at least a couple of real world problems in this class. For my teaching style, I like to use technology to make learning fun and also address learners' learning styles.

I will be providing the curriculum and all the materials that students will need for this class.

By the end of this lesson, a student will be able to solve a one-step equation on their own.

By the end of this lesson, a student will be able to solve a one-step inequality on their own.

I teach math classes for several grade levels, in the grade ranges of 4th to 11th grade, as well as college math. (I include algebra, geometry, trigonometry, etc.-all math subjects within those grades-and college algebra.) I like to use technology to make learning fun.

I have 4 years of experience tutoring and teaching, mostly in math. I've mostly tutored/taught K-12 students, but also college students and adults.

I like to teach students using their learning styles and interests and to find out their background knowledge and what they want or need to work on to help them succeed. I love to make a difference helping students gain confidence, understanding, and mastery of math in a way they haven't achieved before, ultimately leading them to achieve both their learning and career (short-term and long-term) goals.
