Class Experience

NOTE: for eight weeks, once per week, this Math class will cover some of the foundational skills required of third graders.

Did you miss getting into the 3rd or 4th grade ongoing class? Does your student need a review of some 3rd or 4th grade Math fundamentals? Or, like some parents, are you unhappy with your district's online education and looking for more? Let's work on those skills most important for a person to know as well as the basis for 4th grade and beyond. Based upon the Common Core standards (including texts from Florida and California) we will practice: multiplication, division, decimals, money, and fractions. The class environment will be extremely positive! Students will have the option to ask the group or the teacher for help; like a "lifeline". Based upon my 10 years of teaching students I am very confident that your student will greatly benefit from this course. I will first model the Math & then WE will DO it together so that the STUDENT CAN DO the Math. Parents & students, I invite you to wrap-up the school year with a positive experience learning Math.

Having left the corporate world, where I mentored and taught personnel, I began teaching and tutoring elementary and middle school students in every subject with a focus upon Math. My specialty in teaching is making things simpler. No matter the Math or Language Arts, I seek to make it easier for the student to learn and succeed. Besides having been teacher certified by our state, I am also TESL certified through two companies. For the last three years I have been online or face-to-face tutoring Math and Language Arts to elementary and middle school students. In that span I have taught over 3,000 lessons. Positive encouragement and creating opportunities for student success in a flexible structure are driving forces in my classroom.
