Making Math Easier: 4Th Grade Math Tutoring Geared for Your Student

Does your student need a review of some 4th grade Math fundamentals? Maybe he or she requires a PRE-view before going into 4th grade. Or, like some parents, you are unhappy with your district's online education and looking for more? Let's work on those skills most important for a person to know for 4th grade. Based upon the Common Core standards (including texts from Florida and California) we will practice: multiplication, division, decimals, money, fractions, and more. The class environment will be extremely positive!  Based upon my 10 years of teaching students I am very confident that your student will greatly benefit from this course. I will first model the Math & then WE will DO it together so that the STUDENT CAN DO the Math.  We will use pencil, paper, and other objects / counters to complete the appropriate fourth grade Math and have some fun in the process [note: if your child chooses to duplicate my efforts, I do not supply the gummies nor oreos nor animals used as counters  :) ]. Possibly it is estimating, listing multiples, two-digit multiplication, perimeter and area, division, or another skill. Or possibly it's just general preview or review. This will be a VERY good investment in your student's education. If required, I can provide some assessment(s) beforehand.

NOTE: THIS SCHEDULE IS JUST A SAMPLE AND WILL PROBABLY CHANGE based upon the needs of your student :) . With ongoing evaluation we can adapt the plans.

Week 1 - Assess 4th grade skills: fractions, decimals, two-dimensional shapes, angles, etc...
Week 2 - Are all fractions created equal?
Week 3 - Finding common denominators. Are they lost?
Week 4 - Comparing fractions
Week 5 - Multiples of fractions
Week 6 - Multiply fractions because we have to
