⭐️ Get Ready to Chat, Play, and Laugh with this Long Running Class! ⭐️ ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜♾️ Together we : -Have conversations -Get to know new friends -Get noisy sometimes -Discuss topics that are learner-led -Discover shared interests -Develop positive ways to introduce ourselves to new people -Appreciate each other's values, abilities and beliefs ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜♾️ 💬 Our class begins with a round robin show and share and continues in the direction the conversations take us. Learner-directed conversations allow for the natural flow of quiet moments and dynamic ones. Our moderators are there to facilitate conversation and model ways to engage. Our activities might include 🌟We might share about movies we have seen or games we have played. 🌟We might draw on the whiteboard while we talk about things or create a new creature! 🌟We close with a chance to share plans for the week or weekend coming up. 🌟We can play a guessing game or a whiteboard game. Every meeting is a little different as new friends join and bring their ideas to the sessions. If one group doesn't work for you, try a different section! Each group has it's own dynamic. We don't use Breakout rooms, we all stay in the same group. What do you want to share? Session topics will be learner-directed. As this is a social group that is learner led with no curriculum, videos will not be shared with families to protect learner privacy, unless there is a safety issue. ☑️ We are ESL Friendly, CEFR Level B and C. ☑️ 🔔This group is trauma informed. That means we don't play around with potentially traumatic topics including murder and violence. All topics are welcome for discussion but trauma will not be our party theme. This includes murder mystery games. Thanks for understanding this effort to provide a safe space (in a short time) for all. 🔔

Learning Needs
We are a Neuroaffirming Organization! We support learners with different needs and meet them where they are at. In our social groups, we can read out the chat, we can scribe and we keep the class together and don't use breakout rooms.
Parental Guidance
This is a facilitated, not an instructional class. There is no content on "How to Make Friends". This is a social space where learners are encouraged to share things that are important or interesting to them.
This class is designed and delivered to support learners in eventually achieving a high school diploma. By engaging in communications studies using an online platform, learners can engage with audiences and cultures that they may not otherwise be able to access. The online classroom enhances the learner’s opportunities to consider diverse perspectives, acquire information and present information for many purposes and audiences. The following are examples of competencies that are developed and supported in this classroom.

I'm cool with awkward moments and silence. Growth happens in discomfort. I leave space for connection. I do make sure everyone gets a turn to speak, keep things safe, and as much as possible, I try to stay out of the way.
This is a learner driven class. They are getting to know new people. I often don't know what they are talking about, and don't plan on keeping up with trends. I'm curious when I can be, but I know enough to back off if the group is connecting over something that I've never heard of. They aren't here for another adult perspective.
I see their strengths. Every person has value to offer and I am passionate about making an open space for learners to share and connect. Reviews
