US Grade 3 - 5
In this one time course, students will learn and practice the skill of finding equivalent fractions. This is a foundational skill to understanding fractions in upper elementary school and on. This is a skill needed to perform all operations with fractions, especially in grades 3-5. We will cover fractions that have denominators of 2-10. We will learn two strategies: finding equivalent fractions with models (pictures) and by multiplying. We will utilize shared-screen with slides and discussions. The class structure will be as followed and will include the "I Do, We Do, and You Do" model: - Introductions and activator (5 minutes) - I Do: Teacher-Led instruction via shared screen modeling (15 minutes) - We Do: Practice problems together as a class by participation (10 minutes) - You Do: Students will be assigned problems and submit via chat box. Teacher will provide extra assistance (10 minutes)
