Description
Class Experience
Students will gain a deeper understanding of the text by relating it to their own experiences and existing knowledge. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the text through discussion of their own and others' ideas. Students will learn to make sensible predictions based on what they've read and discussed. Students will learn how to summarize a text. Students will learn that these strategies can be applied to all their reading.
I teach reading comprehension to pupils aged 7-11, and have held the role of Subject Coordinator for Literacy in several schools in the UK.
4 files available upon enrollmentText and response sheet (Word/PDF) provided by the teacher before class. If you do not have access to a printer, the following materials will be sufficient: pen / pencil paper / notebook.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
