Class Experience

Students will gain a deeper understanding of the text by relating it to their own experiences and existing knowledge. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the text through discussion of their ideas. Students will learn to make sensible predictions based on what they've read and discussed. Students will learn how to summarize a text. Students will learn that these strategies can be applied to all their reading.
I teach reading comprehension to pupils aged 7-11, and have held the role of Subject Coordinator for Literacy in several schools in the UK.
Students will have the option of completing the response sheet for homework.
4 files available upon enrollmentText and response sheet (Word/PDF) provided by the teacher (to be printed before class). If you do not have access to a printer, the following materials will be sufficient: pen / pencil paper / notebook.
