What's included
1 live meeting
1 in-class hoursAssessment
Assessment is done through informal conversations during class. Students will finish the class with a completed work that demonstrates their understanding of the concepts.Class Experience
We will look at various planets and space objects and ways to depict them so that they appear to be more 3-D. We will also look at how we can use color to make round shapes like planets look more 3D. We'll start off with a discussion about this and some demonstration of various color blending techniques. We will have open discussions as we work together to complete our artwork and students will also be encouraged to talk through their ideas together. We will use an old toothbrush and white paint to create stars on the page. At the end of class, learners will share their creations and discuss them. As a note, I am happy to teach this class to single learners and I do not cancel due to low enrollment.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to use color to make space objects look more 3D.

I am a current art teacher and I am interested in how technology and art can be combined to create new artwork. I teach classes using traditional media like paint and colored pencil, but I've also taught young learners how to use clay, cameras, and computers to create an animation. We've also created artwork that lights up using a paper circuit and a class on robotics! I am also interested in theater, history, and science. I have been an art teacher for 15 years now, having completed a B.S. in art education and a Master of Arts in teaching with endorsements in art, middle school English, and science. I believe every student is capable and creative. I think that there's no limit to what a student can do once they are shown the basics and allowed to let their imagination run wild. I also support all kinds of learners and strive to make my classroom a safe place for everyone to create and feel comfortable sharing their creations with other learners. I am happy to teach classes with only one learner and don't cancel due to low enrollment.
