Making a Meal! At Home Advanced Cooking Class

They’ve mastered the simple things like homemade pizza, macaroni and cheese and nachos. They’ve even gotten the hang of more intermediate dishes like butter chicken, gnocchi and chicken nuggets. Now it’s time to move on to bigger things.

Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 12
Intermediate - Advanced Level
Confidence and comfort in the kitchen is a great thing to have, since eating and cooking are skills you'll forever carry.

In this at home advanced cooking class, we will be making full meals from scratch. Yes, even bread and noodles.
Each week, we will have up to 5 menu items that we will be completing.

Each class will be taught via video lesson that learners will be able to rewatch, pause and come back to as they need. Our videos will begin with a brief introduction and materials needed for the lesson. We will then go over the plan and how we will go about getting everything done. Then the cooking will begin!

There will be multiple videos for each lesson so please ensure you are watching all of them. Along with the videos, learners will be asked to complete a worksheet that will be attached. At the end of each lesson learners are expected to turn in their worksheet and photos of their completed meal.

Though this is an at home class, I am always able to respond to any questions you may have about the recipes and cooking process.

Dietary substitutions can be given to those with allergies and food diversions, this does include nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and vegetarian options.

This class is all-inclusive and is designed to help learners with anxiety, Dyslexia, ADHD, ADD and ASD achieve their goals. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone should feel comfortable and confident in the kitchen.

Hi there! I’m Tabitha Rivera and I am happy to meet you. A little about my background, I have a degree in English and Creative Writing and have been an online teacher for 6 years now. I also have 18 years teaching experience in a classroom setting in daycare, tutoring and homeschooling. I love learning and believe that everyone should have something fun to learn and grow with. I enjoy fostering in a student’s learning by providing thought-provoking out-of-the-box lessons that keep my learners asking questions and thinking long after the lesson is over. I also believe that learning should be fun! My classes provide hands on lessons that get my students moving and learning in new environments. My favorite part of teaching is answering my student’s questions and seeing them make new discoveries while following their passions.

I currently live in New Mexico with my daughter and 2 dogs. In my free time I enjoy working on writing my book, reading, traveling, cooking and baking. I also love to learn new languages and about every culture. I currently can speak 6 languages and look forward to adding more to my collection.

I look forward to seeing your child in my classroom! Thanks for stopping by!
