Description
Class Experience
Set goals for 2023 and put your success in visual terms! In this one-time class, learners will create a digital vision board using Google Slides. Vision boards are visual representations of goals and are an effective way to set goals and refer to them throughout a period of time. All learners are welcome, including those that are neurodivergent. We start the class with introductions (including pronouns) and an icebreaker so that the students will feel comfortable. Then we will develop goals...
Students will set goals and create a digital vision board by the end of the class.
I have helped students create vision boards for over 10 years and I am currently teaching an eLearning course in Learning Strategies for high school students, where we create vision boards. I am a certified English and Special Education teacher (in Ontario, Canada) with 17+ years of experience in the field. I have completed Special Education Part One, Part Two, and Specialist, and last summer I took an additional course in teaching students with Autism. In my role as a high school teacher, I teach a Learning Strategies course and have a caseload of 100+ students that are neurodiverse that I support every day. I am also a Google Certified Educator and have taken a course in teaching through eLearning and have taught online for two years through other platforms. In addition, all three of my children are neurodivergent, with ASD, Anxiety, and Giftedness.
If students do not finish their vision board in class, they may need some time to complete it outside of class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be using Google Slides. A free account is required and should be set up ahead of time.
