Watercolor painting can get quite muddy in color...let's just start there. That seems to be everyone's problem when they first start out. But it doesn't have to be that way if you just use a few rules and techniques that will send the muddy monster running. We will go over the basics of watercolor so that there is no frustration with the medium. We will learn those techniques while creating bookmarks that can be kept or given as gifts. The learner only has to have a desire to learn and willingness to follow instructions.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I was an art teacher to grades 4-12 for 9 years. I didn't like to see my students frustrated because frustration is just one step away from giving up and not trying again. It's difficult once you get frustrated to try again. So let's just avoid the frustration all together. I want to encourage them to try new things but teach them that there are ways to work with the paint so that the paints works for them. It will be an enjoyable experience.
