2 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this live online multi-day class students will make their own adapted version of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" book. Students will practice their fine motor skills in cutting and tracing. Each class we will make pages to the book using cardstock and construction paper. We will practice our literacy skills by reading the pages of our books. Students will practice shape recognition in this class. This class is inclusive as are all of my classes. The length of the class may vary due to the number of students. Some work outside of class may be necessary to complete the project. Cutting out objects prior to class will allow us to make our books quicker. A supply list will be available when the student enrolls. Please feel free to request another time, I am very flexible. The class will commence even if there is only one learner.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello my name is Ms. Maya. The classes I teach are social skills, kinder readiness and support, classes about horses, animals, plants, and mushrooms. I am sure I will be adding to this list as time goes on.
I have worked with special needs children for six years, three of those years as an elementary special education teacher. I have a bachelor's degree in political science with an emphasis in international relations. I am a certified teacher in the state of Idaho. Prior to working in education I worked for a non-profit doing native plant restoration in Oregon.
I have had horses in my life from the beginning. I developed this love of horses with my first shetland pony. I went on the show at western pleasure events. This changed to english, which led to pony club for several years. I minored in equine science in college and apprenticed with a natural horsemanship guru. I enjoy working at liberty with my horses and trail riding now. I have a love for mustangs, especially the wild ones. I am fortunate to live where their wild horses and enjoy observing them. I also have two Bureau of Land Management (BLM) mustangs and one spanish/kiger mustang.
I enjoy teaching children of all ages. I feel that it is important to recognize that children learn at different rates and through different styles. Learning should be a fun and exciting experience for children. I strive to create this atmosphere in my classroom. I love fostering creativity and critical thinking in children.
I have a very energetic two year old son who keeps me young. I also have three horses (mustangs), three dogs, three ducks, three cats and two chickens; I love animals!
