Make Your Own Story: Readers Theater Camp
Class experience
On the first day of class, we will start by reading a fun script about kids who travel back in time. I will coach students on their pronunciation of words, and we will practice being good actors: saying our words clearly and with expression. Students are welcome to come up with silly voices for their characters as long as their words can still be understood! We will read the script a few more times until students feel ready to perform it, and then students will read it for a final time,...
This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their reading skills, their pronunciation of words, their vocabulary, and their acting skills, such as diction, expression, and creating character voices.
I have been teaching theater for fifteen years! I also worked with a children's theater for seven years, and wrote scripts for that company.
Homework Offered
Students are welcome to "cold read" (for the first time) the script in class, or take time to prepare beforehand.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
