Marzipan is an eye-catching confection consisting simply of sugar, almond meal, and a splash of flavoring, making it a perfect introduction to food preparation. During this class, students will learn how much of each ingredient to use, how to blend colors, how to knead dough, and how to sculpt cute marzipan figures. Traditionally, marzipan is shaped into tiny fruits and vegetables but there's no rule that says we have to stop there! Martians, hearts, peace symbols, and pets are all welcome and encouraged. This recipe should make 10 ounces of mazipan which is enough for several snack times, a gift box for grown-up friends, or even a dozen cupcake toppers for a special occasion! Our marzipan can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.

Parental guidance is required. Grown-ups must be on-hand to supervise pouring the ingredients into the food processor, to actually blitz the ingredients, and to supervise emptying the marzipan onto a surface for kneading. This recipe contains nuts and is not appropriate for anyone with a nut allergy. Please monitor all other ingredients you use and adjust for any potential allergies your child may have.
