Have you ever wanted to create your own playthings? In this one-time class learners will both create, and learn how to make their own doll. That way they can make them again! We will use felt fabric, scissors, and a needle and thread, craft pompoms, a dolly clothespin, and small amount of felting wool or embroidery floss. Simple cutting measuring and sewing are required. These dolls are prefect for storytelling, imaginative play, and dioramas. once you make you one, you will want to make them...
This class gives students an opportunity to be creative, hone their artistic skills, and experience the satisfaction of making something they can use. Sewing also improves dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and fine motor skills.
Two or three squares of regular crafting felt (six by six) A wooden dolly clothespin ( you can make the doll without you will just need an extra square of felt) Felting wool or one spool of embroidery floss Sewing scissors A regular hand sewing needle Thread that matches the felt One wool or craft pompom Optional- Ruler or measuring tape
This is for fun so any assessment would be self-assessment.
55 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
