Make Your Own Arcade Video Game: Pokemon
Make games rather than play them! We will use Bloxels to develop and create our own characters, art and layout to make a Pokemon themed game. When we build games, we become writers, artists, designers, and developers of our own stories!

Make games rather than playing them using your own ideas! Become a game developer and create your own game on the forever popular "Pokemon" series in this class. When students build games, they become the writers, artists, designers, and creators of their own interactive stories. It all starts with an idea. We use Bloxels to guide students through a design thinking process to create their own 8-bit layouts, characters, and art for their game. Agenda: 👾 Create your own character and art...
Student will gain an understanding of the design thinking process. They will learn how to create, test and edit their creations.
Students will have access to the Bloxels Student account for a few weeks after class. It is recommended (not compulsory) that they keep practicing designing arcade games during that period.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The bloxels app/website should be open before the start of class. Students do not need to make a paid account. Log in details will be provided at the start of each class and are included. Students will need a strong internet connection (at least 8 mbps - please check your speed here: https://fast.com) Students will need ONE of the following: - A tablet with Bloxels app installed (download from App Store), OR - A computer with the Bloxels downloaded and installed (download here: http://www.bloxelsbuilder.com/download), or - A computer with web browser (go to this site: https://build.bloxels.co)
