Make & Sell Your Own T-Shirt Designs!

In this class, the students will learn practically everything they need to know to get started creating, designing and selling their own t-shirt line using their own unique designs. I walk them thru every step including researching and deciding on a niche, various ways to design and make the shirts, printing and fulfillment options, product options, marketplaces and customers all the way through to making sales and marketing strategies. Lastly, we will discuss what to expect and pitfalls to avoid. 

I structure the class with a day in-between so the students can think about the lesson, what they have learned and practice implementing or brainstorming ideas while the information is still fresh in their minds. It is kind of like homework but not in the traditional sense. 

My goal for the class is for it to be comprehensive and that the students have enough information and resources to start right away if they choose. The class is fast-paced but should not be too difficult to follow along. I also try and make it interactive. There will be a workbook that they can use to fill in answers, keep notes and ideas and a place to keep lists of resources I mention throughout the class. 

Each class builds upon the other so the students need to attend all three classes if they are to get all the necessary information. My teaching style for this class is informal. I welcome discussion and questions. Students will be able to interact with me and with the other students. The basic structure is lecture using slides however I will be going online, in real-time showing examples.

I don't plan to review anything inappropriate or adult themed in nature but places like Etsy have their own algorithm and sometimes by scrolling something questionable may pop up. I take no responsibility for that. I will move past that quickly. I don't want any parent to feel their child was exposed to something inappropriate. All live search terms have been vetted like "funny tshirts" but someone could make an adult themed funny t-shirt that is a best-seller and it shows up in a search while scrolling. 

No previous experience or knowledge needed. 

This class is for artists, creatives and business-oriented students alike. 

**IMPORTANT: Realize for most online marketplaces like Etsy you must be 18 or older to have a storefront. Younger students will need a partner to get started on many of these online marketplace platforms. That partner could be parent, guardian, or older sibling should they want to have a shop before they turn 18.**

*** if a student is 18 years old, they can take the class. If a younger learner wants to take the class as well, that would be fine with me as long as the parent is available to provide guidance as necessary.
