By incorporating personal interests (characters/kid friendly topics) into each lesson, it will allow students to be engaged for the entire 30 minutes. As a special education teacher for the past 9 years, I have worked with students of all levels and abilities and have had success working with them in numerous subjects, including math.
Students should bring something to write with (pen, pencil, dry erase marker) and something to write on (piece of paper, notebook, dry erase board)
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
