Our sessions are fully custom to meet the needs of the learners. We can meet weekly or more or less frequently, as needed. Ideally, learners will send materials/questions in advance so that we can maximize our time together- but we can also work through assignments and challenges together in session. Either way, I am here to support success by helping learners understand the material, write essays and research papers, complete assignments or build their own special project for their academic portfolio - ideal for homeschooled students. >>I am here for College Planning, research, essay planning, test strategies, curriculum planning and application support, too. Planning should start before freshman year, and can take place until move in. There are many steps...I'm here to help. College research and selection is a wonderful learning opportunity- my approach focuses on the life skills of self-reflection and rational decision making. Let me know how I can help! FAQs Why four sessions? I have found that most challenges need at least four meetings to resolve fully. I have also found that special projects can be managed with four meetings with fairly independent learners. Can I partner with another family to share a session? Of course! If you'd like to share the cost among more learners, let me know- I will provide you with a private link that you can share with whomever you like. Do you offer tutoring in the On-Going format? Yes! Once we establish with this course, you may prefer to continue with the ongoing format. Simply opt for my Set Up for Success classes.

I HAD to study history at Hampton University (B.A) and U.S. History at Southern Methodist University (M.A. abt) because I found the complex topics and dynamic issues endlessly fascinating. Teaching high school and college history felt more like a prize than a job as I loved sharing our nation's struggles and stories with young learners and challenging them to think critically. I have decades of experience doing this . While I am no longer in the physical classroom I am thrilled to be working with young learners around the world in small groups and one-on-one. Sharing my love of history to young people gives me hope and brings me so much happiness- our children are amazing!
I have been working with young people seeking higher education since 1999. Turns out, the same skills that make historians awesome (research, critical thinking, understanding the big picture) are also useful in guiding young people through the college selection and application process. Through the decades I have helped teens in groups and individually. College research and selection is a wonderful learning opportunity- my approach focuses on the life skills of self-reflection and rational decision making.
