Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to make DIY rhythm instruments. They will also learn basic rhythms including whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, eighth notes and rests.
1. Shaker body: You will need a paper towel or toilet paper tube, an empty tissue box, an empty beverage bottle, or 2 paper plates. 2. Noise Makers: You will need rice, dry beans or small pasta noodles (elbow or spirals) that will fit inside of you shaker body. 3. Seal: You will need one of the following - wax paper, saran wrap, or tin foil and also either a stapler, rubber bands, or tape to seal the shaker shut. 4. Decoration: You can decorate your shaker with markers, crayons, colored pencils, colorful duct tape or whatever else your imagination can think of! Just make sure it will dry fast so you can pick it up and play with it.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
