Make Egg Chalk and More! 3 STEM Spring (Easter) Science Activities!
Class experience
The purpose of this class is to allow the learners explore their creative skills to create a shatterproof egg drop to later review scientific explanations that lead to the egg breaking or staying in tact. We will talk about what it is about the egg shells that make them good for making chalk and we will talk about the properties of the food coloring that makes it "climb" the paper towel to make a caterpillar. My class will be hands-on with me demonstrating with the learners how to do the...
Learners will improve their skills in gravity concepts and capillary viscosity (what makes the colors soak into the paper towel.). They will learn the components of the scientific method and focus on the engineering part. Furthermore, they will analyze the success of their creations.
10 egg SHELLS bowl for grinding shells assorted food coloring notebook & pencil paper towels 8 clear plastic cups 1 HARD BOILED egg materials for learners to create a shatter-proof egg protector (straws, rubberbands, masking tape etc)
