Class Experience

These temporary tattoos are a way for teens to have fun with realistic looking tattoos that last for a couple days!
In this class, teens will watch a short demo, then be guided step-by-step to make "Do It Yourself" temporary tattoos at home, using a laser printer and household items. We will end the class by showing each other how our cool designs turned out! The purpose of this class is to learn a skill, and have fun doing something artsy all together.
Student must be able to handle hot water and rubbing alcohol responsibly.

Supply List
Before class:
Print a page of various desired tattoos designs in black in white ink onto regular printer paper using a laser printer. The tattoo designs MUST be printed using a laser printer, otherwise the designs won't transfer from the paper. Print a variety of designs as we will be doing as we may be doing multiple as time allows.
On the classroom page I will post a PDF page of designs to print.

Tips for designs: Darker and simpler designs tend to come out more clearly. For the class I recommend sizing the designs to no bigger than the students palm.

Supplies needed for project:
Laser Printer and printer paper (for printing designs BEFORE class)
A working microwave or access to hot water
Water
Scissors
Two bowls, one of which must be microwave safe (both large enough for design to fit in)
Body spray (for example, I used "Bath and Body Work's" "Pretty as a Peach" Fine Fragrance Mist. Not to be confused with perfume)
Cloth towel
90% Rubbing Alcohol

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Ms. Melissa.
I enjoy teaching painting, and other arts and crafts. I used to teach an in person crafting club, and I thought it would be amazing to craft with people all over the world at Outschool too!
I am currently continuing my years of professional art study at California State University Northridge, and am pursuing a career as a full time highschool teacher.
My goal as a teacher now and in the future is to create a fun and encouraging learning environment for students to de-stress and use their creativity.
Thank you, and I hope to see you soon!
