Class will be taught by constructing a busy book in real time alongside the instructor, as she prompts discussions about the different types of saltwater fish and coral that you can find in popular kids movies. Students will be encouraged to pick their favorite characters and add them to their “ocean,” as well as share what their projects look like along the way. The experience will allow ocean-loving learners the opportunity to combine their interest in sea life with environmentally-friendly...
•Create a saltwater ocean busy book •Learn about the real fish that are represented in popular movies as cartoons Students will have the opportunity to practice: •fine-motor skills (cutting, coloring, taping/stapling) •creativity •decision-making
Continue adding fish and decorations to the student’s book.
1. One empty cardboard cereal box 2. Scissors capable of cutting cereal box and paper (age appropriate) 3. White printer paper 4. Markers or crayons - green, blue, brown and orange 5. Clear tape or a stapler 6. Optional: printed photos of a downloadable series of fish photos 7. Optional: pipe cleaners, ribbon, string, a small handful of sand and other creative craft supplies
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
