This class is taught in English.
The learning goals for this class will be to create and record a professional song as part of a team.
I have been a teacher for the last 19 years, and I’ve loved every moment of it. I have also been a professional, rapper and hip-hop artist for the past three years.
Homework Offered
The only homework that will be assigned is if on class three the student was not able to finish the recording of their verse and/or hook by class’s end time. If this does happen to be the case, I will make sure the student(s) has/have all of the equipment and login credentials necessary to be able to finish their track recording professionally.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Grades Offered
Students will need to have a microphone and headphones when they are recording their contribution on the group track. Students will need to make either a BMI mobile and United masters account or just a distrokid account before the beginning of our final class which is class five. This is to make sure that Student gets the money and credit for the hard work and dedication they put towards the track.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be using soundtrack for education and or BandLab for education provided by me during the class, so there will be no cost to you for that. To ensure students receive the credit, and the money rightfully owed to them for the song that they will be a part of creating. They will either need to create a BMI mobile account alongside a United masters account free trial there is no cost for either one of those. The other option is to create an account through distrokid, which does have a One time fee of $22.99, but distro kid will not take any of the money that is rightfully owed to the artists. Whereas united masters will take a portion, but there won’t be an upfront fee if you opt to create the 14 day, free trial at the time of the track getting distributed, released and monetized. I will be screen sharing YouTube, when we are choosing a beat for our track. The beat will be royalty, free and free for profit use. I will also be screen sharing canva for education when it comes time to creating cover art for our song.
Soundtrack for education, and or band lab. An account on BMI mobile, unitedmasters, and/or distro kid.
