Terrariums are self-contained environments for gardens to grow. They are like aquariums but for plants instead of fish. During the class students will be inspired to create an up-cycled terrarium through live discussion, videos and pictures. Students will learn the science happening inside the terrarium that helps plants grow and why there is condensation inside the recycled bottle. Students will then be encouraged to follow along as we build a miniature garden terrarium step by step...
A list of preferred items will be shared a couple days before class begins, including an empty plastic bottle. (Soda bottle is preferred, although a water bottle or even milk or juice jug will work.) Small filter charcoal or moss is helpful too.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some cutting may be needed so parents may need to be on hand to assist depending on the development level of the child.
