Calling all book lovers and aspiring filmmakers! In this class, we'll transform your favorite book into an epic movie trailer! Using templates and some creative thinking, we'll imagine what your book would look like on the big screen and bring it to life with a trailer. You'll be amazed at how exciting a book report can be when it's turned into a movie. Plus, you can show off your final trailer to all your friends and family (or even your YouTube followers). Sign up now and let's turn some pages into blockbuster hits! Don't worry if you're not a pro at drawing or video editing - I've got plenty of images to help get you started, or you can do your own search or drawings. And if you want to shoot some video, go for it! Just keep in mind that I won't be able to give you filming guidance during class time. And if you want feedback on your finished project, send it my way after class. Let's bring those book pages to life! Here's what we'll learn in class: • Book summary • Image search / Drawing • Putting it all together in iMovie (or your preferred video editing program) In my classes, we'll have demos, discussions, and lots of hands-on exploration. I love when students ask questions and add their own ideas! If you're not into speaking up in front of a group, no worries - you can always give a thumbs up/thumbs down for some questions, or shoot me a message in the chat. I'm here to make sure everyone feels comfortable participating. Let's learn and have some fun together! Do you have a visual learner or a learner with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, or autism? No problem! As a certified special education teacher, I know how to create classes that are supportive and engaging for neurodiverse learners. So if you're ready to have some fun and learn in a way that works best for you, sign up now and let's get started!

Other Details
Parental Guidance
Learners will need to use the iMovie app or another video editing app. iMovie is only available on Apple products, if your child needs to use a different app, please let me know ahead of time and I can suggest one.
I can provide images for many of the books and learners may do their own search but some learners may want to shoot video too. I will provide links to image search engines that are safe for children.
While I encourage that, there won't be time for me to guide learners through filming. They can however, film after the class and send me their finished projects if they want feedback.
Supply List
A handout will be provided on the day of the class and will need to be printed before class.
