Class Experience

These are no ordinary muffins, these are MIGHTY MUFFINS!  Come join us for some baking fun to learn 4 healthful tips you can use to upgrade, not only your muffins, but other baked goods as well.

During class, we will use a healthy quick-bread recipe to create delicious muffins.  I'll be making classic blueberry,  but you may choose to make a different variety, by simply switching up the fruit or veggies, spices, and/or toppings. I will provide some variations for you to choose from, along with the full recipe.  

I teach this class using Zoom's 2-camera option, so that you may see me, as well as an overhead shot of my work space as we prepare our muffins together.  I do ask that you do a bit of prep-work before hand, so we can start baking right away.  Make sure you check out the Outschool classroom before class, so you can prepare accordingly.

So, what will it be:  blueberry, apple-spice, fresh cranberry-orange, or carrot-ginger?  You choose the flavor, and I'll provide the healthful tips!

PLEASE NOTE POTENTIAL ALLERGEN INFORMATION: This recipe is nut-free and dairy-free, and does include a glutten-free option! The recipe does, however, contain eggs. Please also be advised that we will be using a hot oven during this class. Depending on your child's comfort-level and/or experience using the oven, parental guidance may be advised.

*100% WHITE WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR-I  like the King Arthur's brand 

NOTE! This is not the same as white or all-purpose flour.  It has a higher nutritional content, making it the perfect choice for our "mighty muffin" recipe. For a gluten free alternative, try Bob's Red Mill 1-1 Gluten Free Baking Flour

*aluminum free baking powder
*organic stevia powder ( I like the Pyure brand which is combination of stevia and erythritol)
*salt
*ground cinnamon
*eggs
* organic light agave nectar (I like the Wholesome brand)
*unsweetened vanilla almond milk
*unsweetened apple sauce
*pure vanilla extract
*fresh or frozen blueberries
