Class Experience
Are you moving out and getting your own place soon? Or maybe you love to make gifts to give? Join us in this flexible schedule course to use your woodworking skills to make your very own cutting board. This course discusses safe usage of various power tools, including the table saw, sander, and router. It also discusses cutting board safety and the importance of using food-safe supplies when making items for the kitchen. Every Monday morning, Assignments, a Lecture and various websites...
Students will successfully make a cutting board. Students will be able to select food-safe products for woodworking.
Week 1 - Supplies: Gather supplies, Essay Week 2 - Power Tools: Warning Label Assignment Week 3 - Assembly: Assemble and create the "Juice" catch (optional) Week 4 - Finishing: Seal the cutting board

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Feedback will be given on written assignments. Students will self assess their woodworking skills.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
This course uses power tools. If used improperly, injury or death may occur. ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED.
