'Tis the season for crafting some holiday joy! In this one-time class, learners will make a holiday card using their fingerprints! 🎨 We'll start class with a warm welcome and the chance to share about our favorite part of this time of year. Learners are encouraged to share if they feel comfortable, but there is no pressure if they don't want to! 🎨 Next, we'll use a marker to trace the holiday greeting printed at the bottom of our card.** 🎨 We'll draw our string and add fingerprints to be the lights. Learners are always encouraged to be creative and make a project their own in my classes, so the colors they use are totally up to them! *If your learner doesn't like touching the paint (sensory preferences are real and valid!), I have found that using a small pom pom with a clothespin to be a great alternative. 🎨 Finally, if time permits, we'll use the other half of the template (the blank half) to make the inside of the card. 🎨 After their art is totally dry (after class), learners will just need to glue it to the front of their folded construction paper. I am a patient and positive teacher and I truly believe that everyone can create art! I love seeing learners build their confidence and have fun creating something they're proud of. Also, as a former shy kid myself, I am very understanding of learners who take some time to warm up and there is no pressure in my classes to talk if that isn't comfortable yet. All are welcome here! **I have "Merry Christmas" as the default, but if you would prefer another phrase that better matches your family's holiday season, I am more than happy to make that change and send it to you before class. I can accommodate changes up to half an hour before class starts**

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from The University of Florida
Hello! My name is Ms. Suzanne and I love teaching arts and crafts to young artists. I believe everyone can be an artist! I love working with kids and have done so as a daycare teacher, nanny, school volunteer, and as a mom to my own three kids. I have a BA in linguistics from the University of Florida and I've been doing arts and crafts for as long as I can remember (I even ran my own Etsy shop for awhile!). When I teach arts and crafts projects to young learners, I believe in giving them lots of encouragement to try new things and make mistakes. Everyone's art will be a little different, and not only is that ok, it's amazing!
