Want to watch as an eggshell completely disappears off of a chicken egg? How is this done? Come ready to make predictions, hypothesis, and conclusions. This egg experiment takes four days to complete, so it is a two day class. In the first day, we will use the scientific method to create predictions of what will happen. We will also begin the experiment that will cause the egg shell of an egg become like rubber. On the second day of class (which will be four days later) we will discuss...
Students will learn how to use the scientific method in an experiment, and how to create an experiment. They will also learn what can create an egg shell to loose it's calcium content. Students will learn how to analyze data in a scientific experiment.
They will have to find a safe place to keep their egg experiment for the week.
One or more chicken eggs. A cup or container big enough to put the egg(s) in, and have the egg completely covered in liquid. Enough vinegar to cover the egg in the container. Please have these items ready before class begins.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
