Magical Music: The World of Danny Elfman Class Breakdown: -Introduction:Class Rules & Objectives -Meet the Composer: Danny Elfman -Musical Vocabulary: Film Composer/film-score/soundtrack -Explore how music can set a mood. -Overview of films composed/listening sessions. -We will talk about the style instrumentation of the pieces and how they help the set the ambience of films. -Conversation: Answer questions in our presentation regarding what we learned. -Listening Game: Identifying the soundtrack and its appropriate film. -Link to Danny Elfman Interactive Film Room. Students will be provided with a Google Slide link to an Interactive Danny Elfman Room to explore more of his music. *Students are highly recommended to use headphones or earbuds for a higher quality listening experience.

I am a professional singer-songwriter and violinist residing in Los Angeles, CA. I hold a Bachelors from the University of North Texas and my concentration was music. I have experience playing in orchestral settings, chamber groups, recording in the studio, and accompanying Latin-Grammy winning artists. I have also written music for major record labels- Universal Music. I have 10 years of experience giving private lessons, working as an instructor for string conferences, summer camps, working at a public school, and as a judge for music competitions. I have experience with several music genres including Classical, Regional Mexican, Pop, Electronic, and Rock.I currently work in Los Angeles teaching Elementary & Middle School as well as a Director of LaMusArt Mariachi Ensemble & Instructor for Violin/String Ensemble.
I love working with students of all ages and backgrounds. I will help you focus on reaching your full potential learning a new instrument or continuing your studies on the violin. We will perfect your technique, note-reading skills, ear training, and music theory. I will create individualized lessons for you catering to your own needs and goals as a student. We will have fun learning different pieces and styles of music while maintaing weekly goals for you to accomplish and grow as a violinist.
