Class experience
US Grade 5 - 8
This ongoing class is for new and established Harry Potter fans! Students are encouraged to wear/bring their favorite Harry Potter themed clothing, toys, books etc. to our meetings to share with our witch and wizard friends :). Each meeting is broken up into three parts: Part 1- Student questions. This time is dedicated for those reading the books to ask questions about the original seven books for the instructor/other students to answer. Ex: Why does Dobby hurt himself when he visits...
Students will be able to practice higher order thinking skills (making inferences, drawing conclusions, analyzing quotes) by participating in class discussions
The instructor is a certified Teacher of English (K-12) and Reading Specialist (P-12) with over 10 years of teaching experience. The instructor has also read/listened to the Harry Potter series multiple times :).
Students are welcome to bring their favorite Harry Potter books, toys, etc. to class. All are encouraged to wear Harry Potter clothing :)
Students will discuss concepts in the Harry Potter series which include death, good vs. evil, some violence, etc.
The seven books in the Harry Potter series.
