As an elementary school librarian, much of my day was finding the perfect book for each child. For some, the love of reading doesn't come naturally, so through relationships, intuition, and extensive personal reading of kids' literature, I found each kiddo's gem of a book. It was and continues to be my passion--to inspire the love of reading.
At home, students will read the assigned pages each week, and be ready to discuss it in the book club. --See assigned pages below. To fully benefit from each class and discussion the weekly book must have been read before the start of each class. With a 4th-grade reading level and 336 pages, most kids get very wrapped into the adventure that they don't want to put the book down, so they are able to complete the required reading rather quickly. Reading is required before the first class and students are required to have a copy of the book. Students are welcome to access the work by audio, print, or digital copy. Reading PACING Guide: ------------ Class 1: ● Reading due: Up to chapter 9. Need a copy of the book in audio, print, or e- format required.
