Let's take a literary trip to the Middle Ages with the Magic Tree House Book 2, "The Knight at Dawn!" This course is a continuation of my Magic Tree House book club series. Please note, you *do not* have to read Book 1 to jump into Book 2! Dive into any book and enjoy the adventure. We will read our books together aloud in class while covering ELA standards for the general 6-8 age group. We'll also share and discuss the Middle Ages together! The course is collaborative, social, and hands-on, with reading, sharing, and active discussion taking place each week. The class supports homework, including a quiz. Students will read either independently or aloud with a parent at home each week to continue the discussion in class and build on what they learned the previous week. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the end of the class! Students will need a copy of Magic Tree House Book 2: "The Knight at Dawn," for class. Books can be checked out at the library or purchased bookstores for about $5-8/each.

Dive Into the Middle Ages
In this intro class, we'll meet each other, learn more about the Middle Ages, and read Chaps 1-2. Students will read Chap 3 for homework. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Read the Knight at Dawn and Discuss the Middle Ages
We'll socialize and share, discuss the Middle Ages, discuss Chapter 3, and read Chapters 4-5 together. Students read Chap 6 for homework. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Mid-Book Check-In and Quiz Discussion
We'll share our latest finds, discuss Chapter 6, and read Chapters 7-8 together. Students will take their quiz for homework. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Wrap Up the Middle Ages
We'll socialize and share, discuss the quiz results, read chapters 9-10 together, and celebrate "The Knight at Dawn"! 45 mins online live lesson
Other Details
Pre-Requisites
Students should feel comfortable following along to the reading OR listening to the reading in class.
Supply List
Learners will need Magic Tree House Book 2: "The Knight at Dawn" and a printer or place to print out a worksheet or quiz.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
