In this 4-week language arts course, students will travel with Jack and Annie by performing readers theater, creating a digital rainforest, playing comprehension and vocabulary games and becoming rainforest animal fact finders!

Class Experience
Students will improve: * fluency through reader's theater * comprehension skills through predictions and discussions * vocabulary through games and activities * non-fiction writing skills using a provided rainforest research graphic organizer
Pre-class assignment: Read chapters 1-3 Class 1: Chapters 4-5 Class 2: Chapters 6-8 Class 3: Chapters 9-10
Book: Magic Treehouse: Afternoon on the Amazon by Mary Pope Osborn (Required) Book: Magic Treehouse Fact Tracker: Rainforests by Will Osborne and Mary Pope Osborne (Required) Day 4: Mango (cut up and ready to eat)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
On day 4, we will be using adjectives and our five senses to describe a mango. Please have the mango cut ahead of time if you cannot be there to cut the fruit for your child.
