In this 3 day camp, students will explore the basic elements in a story. They will write their own tale of what would happen if they owned a magic tree house. They will draw a picture to go with their story. Then, they will meet together to share their story with the class! This class will be structured as follows: Day 1: Students will meet and discuss what the Magic Tree House is. They will then learn the basics of writing a creative story. We will learn and discuss what makes an exciting story! Then, students will be assigned the task of writing their own short story. Day 2: Students will meet together and discuss their story ideas. They will be given time in class to work on their writing. They will be able to take time to ask me any questions that they may have. For homework, students will complete their Magic Tree House story and picture. Day 3: Students will bring their completed story to class. We will share these stories together and have a story party! Students can bring their favorite snack and share their complete story and picture with the class. We will focus on highlighting the positive things about each child's story! Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Liberty University
Hello! My name is Kristen Freeman! I love to teach, and I have been a teacher for the last 5 years. I love Language Arts, History, Phonics, Reading, and Writing! I believe that learning should be fun and exciting because learning is the most amazing thing. I am a wife, a stay at home mom, and a part time teacher!
I have a strong passion for education. I have a Bachelor's degree in education with a minor in child psychology! I have been a teacher for the last 6 years and have taught ESL online for the past 2 years. I have taught children of all ages during my teaching career, and I think that learning should be exciting no matter how old you are!
While I enjoy all types of classes, I am super passionate about reading, writing, and grammar! Children often struggle with these core areas and since they are the basis of education, they soon come to dislike reading and then learning. I believe that all children can learn and that sometimes it takes a different approach to unlock learning a new concept! That is why my classes focus on exciting approaches to basic content!
