In this book club, students will get to explore the "Mystery of Morgan's Rhymes" books in the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne. This series includes the books which are Stage Fright on a Summer Night, Good Morning, Gorillas, High Tide in Hawaii. We will not be reading Thanksgiving on Thursday due to some material being highly controversial today. Students will practice reading skills such as reading aloud, comprehension, story elements (characters, setting plots, conflict,...
Students will improve the reading skills of reading aloud, prediction, summarizing, and comprehension.
Students will have weekly reading assignments and occasional mini projects. They will also need to complete their final project prior to the last class.
Students will need the following books: Stage Fright on a Summer Night Good Morning, Gorillas High Tide in Hawaii Final project: Blank paper colored pencils
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will NOT be reading Thanksgiving on Thursday. Also, these books contain the potential danger of the main characters who are children.
