Welcome fans of the Magic Tree House book series! In this ongoing class, we will be reading a Magic Tree House book each week! This is a great way for children who are getting started on reading chapter books! The Magic Tree House is a highly entertaining and educational book series that follows siblings Jack (age 8) and Annie (age 7) as they transport to different places and enter different historical periods of time. Because this is an ongoing class that has 40 books in the series, your student can attend as often as they would like. Students will read the entire book before class as we will have discussion comprehension questions each week. Discussion questions will be posted in the classroom before each class according to the chapters & book we are reading that week. During class students will take turns reading the last 1-2 chapters of each book, depending on the class size and time. This will give students practice in developing strong reading and comprehension skills, as well as reading aloud in a class setting with their peers. Patience and respect will be given to any student who struggles with reading and will be encouraged and helped along. These books are generally recommended for students 6-9 years old or grades 1-4. I encourage parents to read these as I believe in open communication between children and their parents! Parental Guidance
As there are some topics that some children may not be ready to read about, I encourage parents to read these books as students are encouraged to discuss literary experiences with their parents. I believe in open communication between children and their parents and will always encourage that belief!
**Parents who have multiple students in this class will receive a 10% discount.**
Supply List
Depending on the week that your student attends class will determine which book you need to have. I suggest looking for used books for sale or at your local library to help with the cost.
