Class Experience

I love teaching ESL in a manner that is fun and engaging for the student. I give clear directions and am great at scaffolding the learner to reach the intended purpose. Parents appreciate that I encourage and praise their child/ren while challenging them to reach great success. Students appreciate that I am patient and weird :)!

I have taught ESL for 25 years, overseas and online. I have several certificates, including the TOEFL and the TEFL certificates.
Students are required to complete the pre-reading exercises, read the text, answer comprehension questions to aid in discussion, and complete a simple project. The presentations in this section are: Chapter One - Bring a picture of your favorite animal/dinosaur and use descriptive words to describe using the sentence frames provided. Chapter Two - Explain a favorite holiday tradition using the frames provided in class. Chapter Three - Share a folktale from your culture and explain its importance to your culture.
Please make sure that your student brings the necessary items. Book, print-outs, and pens/pencils. We will use the following books, from the series "Magi Tree House," by "Dinosaurs Before Dark" (Book 1); "Knights and Castles" (Book 2), and "Mummies in the Morning" (book 3) by Mary Pope Osborne
Your child will receive a percentage grade upon request.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
